So, my friend told me to check out this band... And I like them. So I went to three different record stores (like actual record stores, none of this wal-mart crap) and the store associates looked at me like I was stupid. So I was just wondering if anyone else has heard of them on here, and if they like them.

I am assuming, by the fact that this is your first post that you are either a member of 'We Were Promised Jetpacks' or are a friend/avid fan of the band.

I don't mind listening to anyone's band, or anyone's favourite band if they would like me to, but, frankly, I prefer the honest approach.

Sell the band to me in one sentence, give me a link, and I then, if I decide to forgive you for being all tricky with us, I might take a listen. Cool?

I have to admit, I like the band name. makes me think of those 1950/60s era imaginings of our modern day where we are all zipping around in jet packs and whatnot.

btw, anyone ever see the movie version of the novel, "1984?" It features a hilarious scene in the beginning of a guy zipping around in a jet pack (basically him on greenscreen just standing still with a background flying past him)

As for 1984, no I haven't seen the movie.
