The Aug 2 show is my birthday show.... it's not long after I turn the big three oh, so I thank Hurt for throwing a party!

lauren and I are going to the Allentown show.
Should be pretty fun. We've both been Hurt fans ever since Vol. I released, but this is our first Hurt concert that we're going to together (she's flying all the way up from Atlanta!).
We'll probably see you there tweetfreak!

Holy Fuck. I'm in Oxfort PA on that date on holiday in the states!
If I can find a way to get there, get tickets and afford to pay, I can actually make it.
I don't even know if I can, but I'm crazy excited anyway!
How much do tickets cost? Could I get them from abroad?
Help me! I seriously want to be at that!

Either they are 14 dollars, 15 dollars, or 16 dollars. Pick one.

She's going with me too, and she's undecided on Hurt, so we might make a convert.

Quite possibly the most jealous of the people going to this show. I grew up going to the Chameleon to see LIVE and always remember it as being the perfectly sized venue. Not small like a bar but not overpoweringly big like a theater. Really intimate. I wish I could explain it, but the word sexy comes to mind when I try to explain it. My last visit a few years ago it seemed like they had done a good job upgrading and the sound seemed to fill all the rooms.

Now the Croc is just gross. The only place worse is Old Bridge NJ. At least no big bad pot holes. Ick walking through mudd to get in and when I say it's a bar... it's a bar's bar. Sound is terrible and if I remember correctly I got belted with a shoe the last time I was there. God willing they have cleaned it up since then.

It's a beautiful, beautiful thing!

they have smoking upstairs and outside at the Tiki Bar, but nothing's allowed inside. 'Tis very nice. I think that's my favorite new thing about the Club.
And yes - this really is my absolute favorite place to see a show. I LOVE it when good bands come to the Chameleon.

AND it's only 20 mins away which is also really nice.

I really don't enjoy going to the Croc, but I'll make an exception for Hurt. I've gone there in the middle of January and about suffocated in there. I've never had any real issues there though. 'Course I will be alone at this show so we'll see if I come back with a different story to tell. LOL

I'll be at the Chameleon Show and also am planning to go to see the show at The Note in West Chester and The Recher in Towson. I'm really excited to see Sick Puppies again and Tunnels to Holland at 2 of those shows. I guess I better plan to get to the Chameleon early, sounds like the place will be packed. Last couple shows I have been at there, including last week's Rev Theory show and last night's Warrant show, have been almost empty.
twizzerd
Jul 23 2009, 02:38 AM
Warrant as in Warrant of the Hair Metal era? I hear the Amish aren't big fans

Rev Theory is actually just starting to hit out here on the west coast so that's understandable.
Sick puppies brings a good crowd with them. I was at their show in Atlanta with Breaking Benjamin which Breaking Benjamin was headling and Ben couldn't go on and Sick Puppies played an extra long set and didn't seem bummed that BB didn't go on. Should be a good crowd for the Chameleon
madmanpsu
Jul 27 2009, 11:45 PM
Yeah, it was hair metal Warrant, but the old hair bands ussually pull a decent crowd around here, not to mention their were two very popular local bands opening, Evelyn's Ashes and Sugarcoat. I was really disapointed that Rev Theory was not better attended, they play the area on a regular basis and draw respectable crowds at some of the other venues, but seem to struggle at the Chameleon. I was at the last Sick Puppies show at the Chameleon and the place was pretty full and last time Hurt played there the place really full, so I'm looking forward to a large crowd and killer show. Really like SP and the new album is much better than the last one. I'm also interested to see what Veer Union has to offer. I like the radio song, but haven't picked up the cd yet. I think I'll wait to see what they are like at the show before springing for it.

Veer Union never made it to the tour. MarvinsSkeleton has a post around here somewhere as to the reason why (lead singer had a throat infection? or something like that?)
