How can you like something that you can't fucking understand? I'd rather not take classes for Icelandic any time soon.

Do you like even like music, or just poetry?

Music still sounds like music when sung in another language. If you don't like music that doesn't have English lyrics, then in my opinion you don't actually like music, you like lyrics. If you have to take Icelandic lessons to appreciate an Icelandic band, that's a little bit sad.

P.S. Sigur Ros are amazing.
Smell My Finger
Saback has a very... unusual personality.

Indeed they are amazing. I could see how most Hurt fans wouldn't like Sigur Ros though, but IMO they are missing out.

Awesome videos too. Did you check out their DVD?

Really? a lot of what I like about Hurt is also in Sigur Ros' music, I think.

They have a different sound, but they both emote in the same kind of fashion.

In my opinion it takes away from the music, it's an aspect that's missing from my experience. I can't grasp the full expression that the artist is trying to express because I can't understand what he's singing. I'm listening to something that's not complete to me. I'm missing a part of the "painting" if you will, I can't see the entire picture.

I love music, and especially music without words/lyrics. It flows quite well through my veins. If there are lyrics though there's something that the artist is trying to say, and I can't see the painting in its entirety, and I can't stand that.

Well, I don't share that view, but I can see where you're coming from.

It's like... I really like abstract art, and I also like much more classical art, but art where it looks abstract, but when you look closer you realise it's actually meant to be something... just annoys me... because I feel like I shouldn't have to intellectualise and LOOK for things in a picture, I should just look and it should move me.

I guess that's kind of similar.

And also... I want to go to Iceland.

They have Bjork, Sigur Ros, Springs, Mountains, Mist, Lakes, and I think, sometimes, the Aurora, but I might be wrong on that.

I agree with Saback. Which is why I don't like Ramstein. I'm not fluent in German. Certain songs are okay in a language I don't understand, but most are not. :\

In high school my greatest pleasure on the bus was letting the stoners recite Rammstein lyrics and then translate them for them. None of them liked Du Hast after I translated it!
