Well said, i think it certainly shows within Vol I/II

That quote was from an article that ran just before Vol. I came out. I remember reading that a long time ago.

I honestly couldn't tell ya. I read that article back in February of last year. I read a lot of stuff on these guys before the album dropped. Hell, I even knew some of J's history and previous incarnations of Hurt before the album came out lol. The information was out there, just not the easiest to find.
Like that "Jeremy" by PJ was his first exposure to rock music. and...
He was first seed violin in the Virginia Orchestra when he was 14.(can't be positive on that one, but I think it's correct)
I'm not going to post any of the personal details that are out there out of respect to him and his privacy, but there was a bit if you dug deep.

I LOVE this one:
“The short and long of it is I don't believe the music should be about the person who made it. You shouldn't care what they look like or what they believe in.”
Nor do I want to know what they all believe in! Let me just enjoy the music.

My favorite J. quote came after the show in Grand Rapids, MI, the day Vol. II came out. My friend was talking with J. about violins 5 vs. 6 strings and here's what J. had to say:
"I find that the lowest string on a violin is about as useful as tits on a bull."
That definitely made my night.

I have a 5-string violin and I find the lowest two strings invaluable. It really depends on what kind of music you play.

From the Revenant Media interview...
QUOTE
"Loren: I would like to stress that there is always a reason to go on. And that things do get better. And that possibly some people do care a lot about then and they don’t take it to heart and maybe some people who identify with our music might take it to heart if I said that. And that’s what I truly believe and I am “Living Proof” of it."
I just like it. Not just because of what he says, because I already knew that or at least I am always hopeful for things to get better. Rather, I like it because you see that he's aware of the fact that there are people that look up to him in a certain way. When a person writes in the way that J. does, people see a certain wisdom and I like that he is aware of the affect that him saying something positive can have.

I'll never forget what he said to me when I commented on being nervous about talking to him:
"Now why would you be nervous about talking to me?"
I have an easy answer to that question... But that tells me just how humble these guys are.

This is my first post here, thank you all for having me.
J is a fantastic writer. Their music actually inspired me to start writing songs. Every track they have makes me think.
I got a chance to meet the band recently after their show at Blue Cat's in Knoxville. After their show I walked up to J and said, "Thank you for the experience". He looked at me like he was surprised and replied, "Thanks man, that means a lot." It surprised me that they were all so down to earth. I walked into the place thinking they were "larger than life". It's nice to see a band that actually makes such great music and has so much respect for the people that enjoy it.
I read an interview a while back, and they were talking about how they were broke. I think it was Evan that said, "Our bank accounts are empty, but we're the richest men in the world." I think that's a great outlook.

Yea, it's great. I had thought about it before, but never took the plunge. My first piece was inspired by a friends woman problem that brought up thoughts from the past, and I went on a rant. He said, "You should write songs" On the way home I was listening to Vol II and thought, "Hey, I'll write a song"
Now if I could just learn how to play my guitar.

I talked to J and asked him "what made you want to put a violin in rock music?"
He replied "When I asked my instructor how to sing and play he laughed at me, and said as if you'll ever do that"
I love that he is kind of person that will do anything he damn well pleases if he can find a way.

I think he's said in interviews before that it was the other band members who talked him into doing it originally?
